Helpful Hint . . . |
|
• The most common reason for returns is bracelets ordered too short!
• When determining your bracelet's
length, it's better to err a little on the side of longer rather than
shorter. If it's too short, you won't be able to get it on. If it's too
long, it might be a bit loose, but at least you'll be able to wear it. |

How To Determine Your Bracelet's Length
When you order your bracelet you will be asked for the length you
want. Please take the time to measure your wrist so that you will not
be disappointed with a bracelet that is too short or too long for you.
We recommend using a cloth tape measure for best results; however, if you
don't have one, you can use a ribbon, string, or even a piece of paper that
you cut into a ribbon. Whatever sort of measuring device you use,
simply wrap it lightly around your wrist and mark where the
ends touch, then lay it against a ruler.
For adult bracelets, adding
about 1" to the wrist size seems to work well. For child
bracelets, adding about 3/4" should generally result in a bracelet that is not
too tight, but does not slide over the hand. When in doubt, go to
the next longer size.
We realize that there is
no such thing as "average" but 7-1/2" for an adult woman seems to be
a median length. Of course, we can't see your wrist, so this is intended
simply as a helpful guideline. We think like this:
| 7" |
very petite |
| 7-1/4" |
petite |
| 7-1/2" |
medium |
| 7-3/4" |
medium plus |
| 8" up |
larger |
When we make your bracelet we include the clasp in the length measurement
as
the clasp does add to the circumference of the bracelet.
While we offer our bracelets in 1/4" interval lengths, we are not always
able to make them exactly that size. This is due to the widths
of the various letter blocks and beads that make up your bracelet. Whatever size you order, we should be able to come within
plus or minus 1/4" of the stated
size.
Due to the high number of returns of 6-1/2" and 6-3/4"
adult bracelets for lengthening, we have taken those sizes off of the shopping
cart. If you are absolutely sure that you need a length less than
7", please write the length you want in the Special Instructions box at
checkout.
Please note: We charge an additional 50 cents
per quarter inch per strand for bracelets over 8" in length to compensate
for the extra beads, spacers, and wire needed to make long bracelets. Thus, a 9"
two-strand bracelet will cost an additional $4.00 (4 quarter-inches X
2 strands X 50¢).
